Tiffany Rose Goodyear started her journey to become The Sentologist in Washington, DC. After achieving a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science, she moved to the nation’s capital to work with a non-profit organization, then moved on to become lobbyist. Tiffany was ready for a change of pace, and took some time to pursue her interest in marketing by joining a boutique advertising agency. These various experiences inspired her to learn more about how strategic communication can motivate people to act; whether that’s by voting, purchasing or making other decisions. Her drive for knowledge led her to pursue her Masters of Science degree in Advertising Management at the University of Denver, in her home state of Colorado. During school she founded a dessert catering company. Using her own company as a case study for all that she was learning in the classroom, Tiffany was able to transform a lifelong passion for baking and pastry arts from being just a hobby, into a successful business concept. Upon graduation, she decided to stay in Denver and focus on her new business. Over the next few years, the company evolved into a full-service dessert catering company specializing in events and corporate gifts. She found herself not only interested in her clients’ culinary needs, but also into the underlying messages communicated through such gifts and events. She began asking her clients why they were purchasing a corporate gift or hosting an event and who was the target audience they were reaching? What message were they trying to convey? What as the overall goal of purchasing these specific items for this particular event? She would then incorporate all of these details into their personalized food choices, and consider the subliminal message when organizing menus, presentations, and the overall theme of the culinary display.Tiffany was time and time again able to successfully (and effectively) capture their desired message, highlight their personal brand, and tell the customer’s individuals story through a full sensory event. Moving beyond just desserts, Tiffany Goodyear now specializes in finding unique solutions for clients looking to rise above the clutter of audio and visual branding by adding an additional effect of touch, taste, smell, or a combination of the three senses, to a marketing communications program. The approach has gained popularity with her corporate and non-profit clients from the dessert industry. She now works with businesses and agencies to incorporate an overall sensory experience into their communications strategy.
