Bio

I’m Tekoah, a dynamic speaker and facilitator who helps nonprofits reimagine leadership, wellness, and impact through a human-centered lens. With deep experience in BIPOC leadership, LGBTQ+ youth advocacy, and trauma-responsive systems, I bring a grounded, culturally rooted approach to every room I enter. Whether I’m moderating tough conversations or leading strategy workshops, I’m known for translating complex challenges into actionable solutions—especially for organizations serving and led by marginalized communities. My sessions blend heart, strategy, and systems thinking—because transformation doesn’t happen without all three.

Presentations

Presentations (5)
Concrete Support, Real Change: Embedding Tangible Help in Every Program

What if the most transformative interventions weren’t complex theories, but basic needs met with dignity? This session explores how integrating concrete supports, like food, housing help, and flexible funding, into every level of service delivery can radically improve outcomes. Through real-world examples and practical tools, participants will learn how to design programs that go beyond referrals to provide direct, stabilizing assistance rooted in care, not charity.

Resilience Infrastructure: What Communities Need Before the Crisis Hits

Too often, support arrives after the harm is done. This talk challenges reactive models and invites participants to imagine resilience as a proactive, built-in system. Drawing from public health, mutual aid, and trauma-responsive frameworks, we’ll explore how communities and organizations can design formal and informal infrastructure that buffers stress, reduces harm, and sustains well-being before the emergency.

Restorative, Not Reactive: Transforming School Discipline Through Healing

Punitive systems don’t just fail students, they replicate harm. This presentation introduces restorative practices as a transformative alternative to traditional school discipline. Grounded in both evidence and lived experience, the session will offer strategies for cultivating school cultures that prioritize repair, belonging, and student voice, with a particular focus on equity for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth.

The Trauma We Carry: Addressing Workplace Harm in Human Services

Working in human services means carrying stories that change us—but without care, that weight can become a source of burnout, disconnection, and harm. This session explores the invisible trauma of mission-driven work, especially for staff with marginalized identities. Participants will learn how to identify organizational trauma patterns, build protective practices, and move toward cultures that heal rather than harm.

Grief at Work: Making Space for Loss, Rage, and Healing in Our Teams

Grief is not just personal—it’s structural, collective, and often unacknowledged in our workplaces. In this session, we’ll explore how grief shows up in nonprofit and service-sector settings—from staff loss and community trauma to chronic burnout and unmet justice. Participants will leave with language, frameworks, and rituals to help their teams honor grief, build resilience, and move through hard seasons together.
