Bio

Sucheta Rawal is an award-winning South-Asian food and travel writer, speaker and author contributing to over two dozen publications including TIME Magazine, CNN, Travel+Leisure, NatGeo, Fodor’s, Southern Living, HuffPost, AAA, and Marriott Bonvoy. Currently, Sucheta is the dining columnist at Georgia Trend Magazine and Khabar Magazine.

After immigrating from India, Sucheta graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters in Finance and worked in investment banking and consulting before realizing her true passion was to travel and tell stories. Without any background in journalism, she made her way up from writing about food for a local publication to becoming one of the most published freelance travel writers in the United States.

When she realized that there weren’t many writes educating kids about travel, Sucheta created a series of five children’s books, “Beato Goes To Greenland, Israel, Indonesia, Japan and Israel” for young readers to learn about the world and become informed global citizens. The stories were inspired by actual kids Sucheta met during her travels and the illustrations based on photographs she took.

In 2011, Sucheta founded Go Eat Give, a 501(c)(3) registered non-

profit with a mission to raise awareness of different cultures through travel, food and community service. The Atlanta-based organization promotes meaningful and sustainable travel.

Sucheta speaks to industry, organizations and consumers on travel trends, travel media, cultural intelligence, career inspiration, and unique ways to make travel more meaningful. She has inspired audiences around the world through her keynotes and three TEDx talks.

Sucheta has received countless awards for her excellence in journalism. She was named 'Georgia's 40 Under 40' twice by Georgia Trend and by Georgia State University; ‘One of The Most Influential Cultural Bloggers in the World,' by the Foundation of Florence, and been a finalist for the Atlanta Press Club’s ‘Award of Excellence’ and ‘Georgia’s Author of The Year.’
