A great motivational speaker needs the following:
Struggle: It creates hyper-vigilant empathy.
Artistic training: I have 12 years of performance training. I am able to connect to a crowd, lure them in and make them feel.
Improv Training – A nimble mind that is able to think on its feet and interact off of its planned script. Not only does that create a more engaging, interactive experience, but it better connects the audience to the message being delivered.
Struggle: In order to guide an audience through a message and foster inspiration, they have to know you have been at the bottom. To know you have climbed out. Not only does it create the "humanness" needed to lower their guard, but it creates hope and an unspoken message of “if I can, so can you.” I have gone big and struck out. In 2013, I sold my entire life away and boarded a ship that circled the globe. After, I expected a reward. I expected success but wound up going broke and needed to be taken in. I understand struggle, shame, defeat, perseverance, grit, and unwavering faith.
Success: While struggle creates humanness, success is what earns you the right to hold the mic. While I did create a successful life after bottoming out, in December 2021, I will be a published author of a full-length memoir of my journey.
Knowledge: All of the above is fantastic, but whether you are speaking to corporate employees, entrepreneurs, or even athletes, you must have a knowledge base to be received as an equal. I have an MBA and 18 years in corporate America in sales, project management, and consulting. I have my own business and have done entrepreneurial consulting on the side. I have written a book, traveled to over 40 countries, and grew up as an athlete.
I am the most well-rounded person you could hire.
But most importantly, my charismatic energy and fearless presence on stage will make for an entertaining and impactful experience. I will make you laugh. I will make you cry. Even if I stood up there and recited the alphabet, I can make the experience memorable.
