In 2008, Stephanie O'Dea made a new year's resolution to use her crockpot slow cooker every day for a year and write about it online. This simple idea resulted in 10 books, one of which spent 6 weeks on the New York Times best sellers list, a robust website with large social media following, and appearances on Good Morning America and The Rachael Ray Show.
O'Dea has been interviewed for NPR, LA Times, Oprah.com, Women's World, Parenting, and Real Simple. She is a contributing editor for Simply Gluten Free Magazine and appeared in the Ninja Cooking System infomercial as a spokesperson for the product.
With a background in Early Childhood Education, O'Dea is an advocate for "slow living" and believes that life should be enjoyed -- not raced through. She has worked in many school settings and know firsthand how detrimental it is to over-schedule children -- or adults!
She lives in the SF Bay Area with her highschool sweetheart husband. Together, they have three daughters and a basset hound puppy.
