From high end Sport-Climbing and Bouldering to bold Traditional Climbs, epic Big Walls and Alpine Rock Routes, Robbie's love for climbing has taken him to every corner of the globe.
Growing up in Edinburgh Robbie was drawn to adventure with tales of Grandfather's career in the Merchant Navy. After finding his passion in climbing at 15 Robbie soon became enveloped in the a vertical world. First as a member of the GB competition team, then as a hard sport climbing, to his current expedition across the globe putting up new Big Wall lines.
Robbie draws from his experiences both on and off the wall in his entertaining and inspiring talk for climbers and non-climbers alike. Robbie discusses topics such as his experiences of battling failure on his expeditions, motivation/determination in achieving his goals, and balancing adventure with his career. He also discusses his journey in becoming a 'Professional Climber' and earning a living from his passion.
Robbie has had the pleasure to speak at many events throughout his career including Kendal Mountain Film Festival, Yosemite Facelift, Creative Social Events, and London Outdoor Show. He regularly speaks at Mountain Film Festivals, Motivational Speaking Events, After Dinner Speaking, Schools, Pro-Bono events, and Private Commercial Gatherings.
Robbie's notable achievements in climbing include:
In 2015, Robbie climbed three of the hardest Alpine Rock Climbs in Europe - "Silbergeier" in the Swiss Ratikon, "Project Fear" in the Italian Dolomites and "Paciencia" on the North Face of the Eiger.
In 2016, Robbie Free-climbed three of the hardest rock climbs on El Capitan in a single season - "Goldengate", "El Niño" and "The Pre Muir".
In 2017, Robbie completed an incredible single-day push of the 5 Towers of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the Italian Dolomites.
In Spring 2018, Robbie continued his long standing Patagonian Big Wall Project in Cochamo (Chile) which is set to be one of the hardest walls ever climbed.
In Summer 2018, Robbie successfully put up a new Big Wall line on one of Africa's steepest faces in Tsaranora Atsimo, Madagascar, named 'Blood Moon' (8A+/5.13c).
