Bio

With 15+ years as a marketing leader, I have implemented global marketing and communication strategies, developed and trained new organizational processes, launched programs, and managed rapidly growing teams. Now, I help start-up leaders get clarity, confidence, and support to effectively handle the hyper-growth that occurs from series funding.

As a high-performing marketing leader, long-time consultant, and organizational observer in various sectors of business, I saw time and again how critical the correct information at the right time was to employees, managers, and executives. I became passionate about helping others develop the tools they needed to win at whatever their goals were. From guiding young professionals in understanding how they contribute to their specific organizations to advising senior leaders on how to manage significant change in order to achieve growth, I've been able to change organizations and communities.

“How Creating Human-Centric Teams Can Mean Big ROI”

Executives are paid to think of the bottom line. While focusing on the company’s bottom line, they entrust their managers with the responsibility of keeping the business moving forward. In today’s working climate, leaders seem to be less sure of how to support their diversely working teams while juggling resource cuts and the pressure to do more with less. The answer starts with human-centric teams and the way that focusing on the individuals of your team can have a direct impact on ROI. This talk will define three key skills and behaviors that can change the course of teams and keep talent inspired and productive.

How to Be Brave Enough

Like many of you, I, too, am filled with dreams that could span a hundred lifetimes. It's not uncommon for us to have these dreams and ideas, especially regarding business ventures. We all have our “some days” when we envision a better future. Yet, the journey from dream to reality can be daunting. It requires understanding our risk tolerance, devising an action plan, building a supportive community, summoning the courage to take the first step, and setting our metrics for success. These tools can guide us toward turning our dreams into tangible achievements.

New Managers

Traditional promotions tell you that if you’re good at accomplishing tasks, you’ll naturally be good at managing people. It’s “the path”

So you do it! You get good at getting things done.

But then you’re promoted, and now as a manager you don’t know what you’re supposed to do.

Do you know what you’re supposed to be doing? How do you know if you’re doing it well? Are you thinking about what kind of manager you want to be or how to continue being good at what you can produce for your manager?

Making the shift to manager can be difficult. We’ll talk about the skills needed to be a great manager, the pitfalls of relying on your past success, and how you can find ways to succeed within your current role.

Marketing 101 for Startups

For many startups, marketing is rarely looked upon as a priority. So when the moment comes that these businesses need to scale and grow, marketing is inevitably looked to for solutions. If you want to redefine your brand, build your marketing programs, or consider alternative ways to reach your customers, understanding how to think big and work small makes all the difference. Marketing 101 for Startups is a crash course in the business infrastructure needed, when to scale, how to make a marketing strategy, and who to hire.

Women Can Win with Human-Centric Teams

Executives are paid to think of the bottom line. While focusing on the company’s bottom line, they entrust their managers with the responsibility of keeping the business moving forward. In today’s working climate, it can be challenging for women to navigate management waters, becoming less sure of how to support their diversely working teams while juggling resource cuts and the pressure to do more with less. The answer starts with human-centric teams and the way that focusing on the individuals of your team can have a direct impact on ROI. This talk will define five critical skills and behaviors that can change the course of teams and keep talent inspired and productive.

Risk and Resilience

For anyone who has dreamed of owning their own company, taking a big leap, or wanting something more, you can not escape the central moment of risk that allows you to know if your dream could become reality. Because of this, risk and resilience go hand-in-hand. There is no need to be resilient if there is no risk. From within corporate to your own business, the questions to answer are “How do I know if this is the right risk?”, “how do I know when to take the risk?” and “What will happen if I take this risk?” Through my own story of successes and failures, others can ask and answer these questions for themselves, building resilience as a practice for taking big risks.

How Hobbies Help Your Business

For more than 5 years now, I’ve been blacksmithing regularly, first as a hobby, then as a way to slow down and survive the pandemic. In the process, I started observing how hobbies aren’t just time spent on something fun but a critical component to more creativity, problem solving, and saving “creative”margin” in your work. This is how hobbies can help your business.
