Nicky is founder of the African Enterprise Institute, the NICKY OKOYE Foundation and CEO of the ANABEL GROUP. He served previously as a Financial Consult with Merrill Lynch, one of the World’s most reputable Investment Banks at the time, now Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Dr Okoye subsequently served as Chief Strategy Officer and head of derivatives of the Nigeria Stock Exchange. He is co-founder, first Group Executive Director of Transcorp Plc, a conglomerate he helped to build and lead from its startup foundation stage, all the way to its public listing. Dr Okoye also led all the initial fund-raising exercises for Transcorp Plc raising over one billion US dollars ($1 billion) within a 12 months period, which was then recorded as one of the most remarkable corporate fund-raising exercises in the history of Africa’s capital markets. Dr Nicky Okoye has advised and supported two Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria serving as a board member of the National Council on Small and Medium Enterprises and a member of the Presidential Jobs Board. He has also advised two Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria and its leadership team in developing an Entrepreneurship clinic for Nigeria and a CBN oversight capital market strategy. He currently serves on several governing boards of corporate institutions and initiatives across the World. Dr Nicky Okoye was educated at Anambra State University of Technology (later broken into two separate institutions: Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Enugu State University of Technology), there he studied Applied Microbiology and Genetic Engineering. He has taken several executive courses at Harvard Business School and London Business School. Dr Okoye has also participated in graduate studies in the global management program at Graduate School of Arts and Science, Harvard University Extension school Boston United States of America. He received his Doctorate of Business Administration from the Enugu State University of Technology (Honorius Causa) as the most outstanding Alumini of the Institution in 2015. Dr Okoye is a renowned author, global public speaker and adviser to several global institutions and corporations. He has authored his own column in the Guardian Newspapers for two years and anchored his own PODCAST/ radio program for several years.
