As an owner of a concept development firm, Michael has been
instrumental in defining the customer journey for brands like
Apple, Samsung. Canada Goose, Common Living, Deciem, Ever / Body and
KitchenAide.
Michael has spent 28 years designing and building for Fortune
500 companies such as Apple, Guess, Nextel, Samsung, and The
Ritz-Carlton while living in Washington, D.C.; London, England;
and Lugano, Switzerland.
Having designed and constructed hundreds of the most well-known locations throughout four continents, Michael’s primary responsibility at Samsung included growing the brand in North America through intentional, iconic design. Tasked with the design, development, and maintenance of more than 50,000 locations in the U.S. alone, his team was responsible for creating the 55,000-square-foot Samsung 837 flagship store in New York City. Receiving worldwide recognition and awards for this location from Forbes and Design:Retail as a top experiential location, the development strategy used there were incorporated into other consumer facing venues and marketing strategies.
Other noteworthy achievements also include Apple’s signature locations in Berlin, Barcelona and Turin, Italy as well as Guess flagship retail locations in Milan, Italy, and Miami, Florida. In addition, he was responsible for concept implementation for the Canada Goose’s experiential site at Sherwood Garden and the emblematic resorts for The Ritz-Carlton in Florida, San Francisco, and Grand Cayman.
Michael, an industry professional known widely for his presentations at international public events and his tireless pursuit of perfection, has a deep passion and high level of experience in real estate, concept design and construction implemented in more than 40 countries. He has received awards for not only creating a brand’s prominent worldwide image, but also expanding his team’s capabilities internationally through professional instruction and mentoring.
Michael’s career began in the U.S. Marine Corps by serving with distinction as a platoon sergeant in a line infantry raider unit from 1983 to 1993. Honorably discharged in 1993, Michael’s last tour after the Gulf War was at the University of Memphis, where he taught the ROTC corps of
cadets. Throughout his military career, Michael earned awards for leadership and service over nearly 10 years of active duty.
Michael studied at the University of Maryland, where he received a bachelor’s degree in architectural and design engineering.
