Bio

Melanie A. Nix, triple negative breast cancer survivor, uses her endowments as a storyteller, coach, and celebrator to bring joy and fulfilment to the lives of everyone she touches. The chief visionary of Diagnosis to Destiny, she shares lessons learned surviving cancer that can pave the road from diagnosis to destiny. Melanie is a multimedia storyteller who uses a variety of media to share her uplifting and inspiring story as well as deliver illuminating messages. On live and virtual stages, she is the quintessential storyteller whose candor and strength are hallmarks of her timeless messages. She is the cofounder of Breast Cancer Comfort Site. In addition to her dedicated social media following, she has been profiled by several media outlets including CURE Magazine, earning invitations to the Obama White House and Biden Vice President’s Residence.

Melanie’s cancer survival ignited her resilience coaching. She became a post cancer distance runner whose #Exercising4MyLife campaign highlights the health and wellness benefits of running and offers lessons on training and discipline. She is a celebrator of life and milestones big and small. A movie and music lover, she enjoys travel and appreciates the serenity of being oceanside. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business – University of Maryland, College Park. Melanie resides in the Washington, DC area with her favorite celebration crew, husband, Raymond; son, Carter; and daughter, Kennedy. Blessed with a fun-loving family and over a decade of survival, she continues to live unapologetically with lots of champagne toasts…because she can!

Making a U Turn After a Breast Cancer Detour

3. Breast cancer often forces you to rebuild many aspects of your life. You can bloom where you are planted in your new normal.

Diagnosis to Destiny

In this keynote presentation, Melanie provides a roadmap for moving from the lows of a breast cancer diagnosis to the fulfillment of reaching your destiny. Melanie highlights the tools and training survivors gain through their survivorship experience that allows them to overcome obstacles to achieve their destiny. This
keynote is focused on survivorship, quality of life and achieving dreams after a breast cancer diagnosis.

2. Survival provides destiny fuel and the tools to move from diagnosis to destiny.

Giving Yourself Permission to Change

In this keynote address, Melanie describes how cancer
left her, literally and figuratively, bald, naked and powerless. She
shares how, through her survival experience, she accepted and
welcomed change as she redefined her life and her new
normal. This keynote is focused on survivorship and quality of life.
