Entrepreneur Max Murphy has been called “an entrepreneurial powerhouse” by some of businesses top leaders. He is a highly sought after speaker, author, and business coach. Max is currently the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Policampus, a revolutionary political engagement startup that has successfully received venture capital funding, making him on of the youngest people in the country to do so. Max has received an advanced diploma in Entrepreneurship and Strategy from ALISON and is currently pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship at a college in Boston. His book, Making Ideas Work is currently completing its first printing run and is filled with anecdotes, strategies, and ideas to help anybody fulfill their entrepreneurial dreams.
One of the most prolific young serial entrepreneurs working today, Max started his journey at just eight years old with a comic book store he operated out of his grandparents garage. When Max got tired of selling to the same two customers every week (his grandparents), he decided to expand his reach. Max launched a website and google profile, and not soon after he found people knocking on his grandparents door from all across New England looking for “Max’s Comic Shop”. After his parents forced him underground because they didn’t want strangers showing up at their house, Max started selling online. Later at age 13 Max launched the website hosting service dotMySite.com, a free service that generated revenue from banner advertisements. The software and website that powered the service were built entirely by Max himself under the name MaxWare. At age 15 Max launched another venture called WinItGlobal, an online penny auction website that was acquired by a major player in the industry in under a year. Flash forward to age 17 — after taking a trip to Salem, Massachusetts Max noticed a massive generational gap in the tour industry and formed Haunted Avenue Ghost Tours, a ghost tour company aimed at younger audiences that grew rapidly and quickly became a reputable name in the industry.
Max has publications featured on Medium and his blog, “Uncommon Sense”. He has been profiled by numerous local outlets and has taught entrepreneurship courses to middle and high school students from all over New England.
