Mateen Motavaf is an entrepreneur and healthcare advocate who plans to make cryptocurrencies more accessible to ordinary people and promote financial independence. SundaeSwap, his first step in making this vision a reality, is a decentralized finance protocol that allows users to trade cryptocurrencies in a trustless manner.
Mateen initially became interested in cryptocurrencies in 2017. He would visit websites that offered him Bitcoins, but he barely made cents each day and eventually quit trading. However, in the year 2020, he learned about decentralized finance or DeFi and became captivated by how DeFi protocols worked, especially how they might enable everyone to attain financial independence. Mateen met his business partner and co-founder of SundaeSwap through the use of a DeFi protocol.
Mateen is also responsible for the company's branding, business growth, talent acquisition, and UI/UX design. SundaeSwap has raised 1.3 million in venture capital and investment from cFund, a venture capital fund anchored by Charles Hoskinson. Over $120 million in value is locked on SundaeSwap, and over $6 million in daily trading volume is achieved. SundaeSwap is also partnered with Input Output Global, a research and development firm that specializes in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
Mateen is also deeply involved in healthcare and founded non-profit organizations that focus on raising awareness of type 1 diabetes and chronic illnesses. The Type One Advocates is a platform for type 1 diabetes awareness that help newly diagnosed diabetic youth by raising funds, guiding them, and teaching them how to integrate diabetes into their daily activities. They also encourage people to share their stories in order to inspire others who are going through the same experience.
Motavaf also formed the CIEPA (Chronic Illness Education and Prevention Association Movement), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about chronic diseases. His group gives talks that use scientific education and modern research to help individuals with chronic conditions improve their quality of life through publishing articles, introducing healthy recipes, and sharing encouraging stories.
Mateen Motavaf's passion for making a difference in the world is evident in his work with SundaeSwap and his two non-profit organizations. With SundaeSwap, he plans to make cryptocurrencies more accessible. For those suffering from chronic illnesses, he provides them with guidance and support so that they can live their lives to the fullest.
