The New ADHD Wonder Drug, Parent Training for ADHD

Parents of children with ADHD are often given treatment options that focus on the child, while little attention is paid to preparing parents for the day-to-day challenges of the diagnosis. This presentation reframes ADHD management by emphasizing the parent’s critical role in supporting executive function development, motivation, and emotional regulation. Attendees will learn how to move from frustration and reactive parenting to collaboration and strategy through the Chaos Free Improvement Method—a practical framework rooted in Behavioral Parent Training and Continuous Process Improvement. By centering the parent-child relationship, families can create sustainable systems that build skills, increase independence, and strengthen trust.

Using Structured Problem Solving to Reduce Parental Stress and Strengthen Parent-Child Relationships

Parents of children with ADHD face higher stress than those of typically developing children. Common stressors—outbursts, absentmindedness, constant vigilance, and strained relationships—can worsen ADHD symptoms and reduce parental well-being. While Behavioral Parent Training (BPT) helps reduce stress, participation rates remain low and programs often focus more on compliance than collaboration. This session introduces a structured, root-cause problem-solving approach based on the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC model. By focusing on executive function challenges and using tangible performance data, parents can set realistic expectations, build their child’s self-awareness, and strengthen family relationships. The method lowers stress, improves behavior, and grows with the child over time. Participants will receive practical templates and learn how to integrate the process into daily routines or coaching practices.

What You Don't Know About ADHD...Could Really Hurt!

Coach Mary E. Smith shares some new and eye opening information about ADHD. Learn what is really going on the ADHD brain. Understand why people with ADHD are hard to “motivate”. Hear why treatment for ADHD is critical for a healthy life.

Carrot or Stick? What Parents are Missing when Trying to Motivate their Child

Traditional reward and consequence systems often fall short when it comes to creating lasting behavioral change—especially for children with ADHD and executive function challenges. Coach Mary E. Smith offers parents a fresh, research-informed approach that moves beyond short-term compliance toward true skill-building and independence. Participants leave with practical tools they can begin using right away—tools that foster collaboration, nurture intrinsic motivation, and strengthen the parent-child relationship.

Using Structured Problem-solving to Reduce Parental Stress and Strengthening Parent-Child Relationsh

Parents of children with ADHD experience significantly higher levels of stress, often stemming from daily challenges like outbursts, forgetfulness, emotional struggles, and constant vigilance. This stress can strain relationships, reduce intervention effectiveness, and make consistent parenting strategies harder to implement. Coach Mary E. Smith introduces a structured, collaborative problem-solving methodology based on the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC process. Unlike traditional behavior programs that focus on compliance, this approach targets the root causes of non-compliance, builds performance awareness, and strengthens the parent-child relationship.
