Bio

I'm Founder of Advanced Competitive Strategies, Inc., where I conduct business war games for Fortune 500 companies around the world, helping them add billions to their bottom lines. I also taught strategy at the University of Portland.

I've published books, chapters for other people's books, and numerous articles (including 13 for Harvard Business Review) on competitive strategy, strategic thinking, and life/career.

I've delivered interactive, unconventional workshops on strategy, strategic thinking, and life/career, from one hour to three days, at companies, universities, and conferences on six continents.

Most of all, best of all, I love public speaking. I'm 100% in, and my audiences see it and feel it. I bring passion and excellence, and at the end of my talks my audiences have big smiles and deep thoughts.

How to Think Strategically

Everyone thinks strategically; it's how we choose to do this instead of that.

But everyone can learn to think more strategically. We know that because big, powerful, successful companies have gone bankrupt, even though they were run by smart, educated, experienced, dedicated, incentivized people who wanted to succeed.

I've spent 40 years learning how to think more strategically. It's not technical, it's not magical, and it's not painful. It's also not obvious. But all it takes is just an open mind and a little time.

Also, it's fun.
