Marco Robinson is an award-winning entrepreneur and philanthropist who overcame a difficult childhood in northern England to achieve international success. Growing up amid poverty and periods of homelessness, he developed resilience and determination that continue to shape his life and work.
Today, Marco is a successful real estate investor, author, actor, and business coach. He gained national attention through Channel 4’s Get a House for Free, where he gave homes to families in need, and later starred in the action film Legacy of Lies with Scott Adkins.
He is also the founder of the Start Over Movement and the bestselling book series START OVER: Turn Any Loss Into a Sensational Comeback, which shares true stories of recovery after hardship. His other bestselling books include Close the Deal and Suddenly Grow Rich and The Financial Freedom Guarantee.
Born in Buxton, Marco faced years of instability and homelessness before leaving school in his teens. These experiences inspired his long-term advocacy for the homeless and his mission to promote financial independence. He has been featured on BBC News Breakfast and has worked with charities to improve housing access in the UK.
Marco began his career in direct sales and became a top performer before being recruited in 1997 by Tanco Resorts in Malaysia. Despite the financial crisis at the time, he led record-breaking sales of nearly $1 billion and was named “The Billion Dollar Man” by The Malaysian Star. He went on to win two Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
In the early 2000s, he launched several businesses, including Max Generation and The Naked Restaurant Group, which won Tatler’s Best Restaurant and created thousands of jobs. His advocacy extended to supporting blind communities in Malaysia, co-producing the documentary Are You Blind to campaign for guide dog access. For his social and business contributions, Marco was awarded the Dato Seri title, one of Southeast Asia’s highest honors.
Alongside his ventures, Marco continues to act and produce films through his company Undisputed Films. His Legacy of Lies project achieved success worldwide, reaching #2 on Netflix USA.
Through his Start Over Movement, Marco helps people rebuild after financial or personal setbacks, offering coaching in resilience, business growth, and social media strategy. His mission is to show that with the right mindset, anyone can transform loss into lasting success.
