Marcia began her career with the City of Douglasville in 2003 as the Main Street Manager. After serving in various roles Marcia was appointed to the position of City Manager in 2015. During her tenure at the City of Douglasville Marcia spearheaded several catalytic projects including the Douglasville Conference Center. She is active in the Douglasville Community including serving on the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board which serves to identify leaders in the community for the Leadership Douglas, Youth Leadership Douglas and the Foundation’s scholarship program.
Marcia’s professional volunteer efforts include serving as the Vice President for the Georgia Municipal Employees Benefits Systems which is entrusted with over a $2Billion in employee/employer insurance and benefits. She also serves on the Georgia Municipal Association’s Legislative Policy Council and the Georgia Municipal Association Board of Directors. In December of 2020 she was she was installed at the 2021 -2022 President of the Georgia City County Managers Association.
Marcia has spoken to various audiences including local governments, civic groups, universities and non-profits. Her specialty is servant leadership and employee development.
She also holds several professional certifications along with her MBA and is an International City County Manager Association (ICMA) Credentialed Manager.
