Bio

Mana [Mah’-nah] Ionescu [Yo-nes'-koo] is the founder of Chicago Digital Marketing agency Lightspan Digital. She’s been dubbed a marketing scientist for her focus on analytics-driven marketing, busting digital marketing myths and “bringing out the sexy” in brands that think they’re boring.

A sought-after speaker, she’s been sharing knowledge as Kellogg Executive Education faculty and at high-profile conferences such as Techweek, SES, Conversion Conference, Content Jam, Marketing Profs University, Pubcon and many more.

Passionate about underwater conservation, when she’s not tweeting, presenting or running a company, Mana is a volunteer diver at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium.

In 2014, Mana was awarded the “Chicago Woman Making History” Outstanding Entrepreneur Award by the City of Chicago Treasurer’s Office. A true data nerd, Mana serves on the Masters in Analytics Advisory Committee at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Griffiths "reviewed the latest research on the topic and showed that social media use for a minority of individuals is associated with a number of psychological problems, including anxiety, depression, loneliness, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and addiction. Because social media is most frequently accessed via smartphones, their usage is intimately intertwined and their mobile nature contributes to excessive checking habits, which often derives from what is commonly labeled as the ‘fear of missing out’ (FOMO)."
