Bio

Lisa Rosser founded The Value Of a Veteran in 2007, when the veteran unemployment rate was 23%.

Since then, through training and consulting services, The Value Of a Veteran has directly helped more than 450 of the Fortune 1000 and many smaller organizations design and execute veteran recruitment and retention programs that get results.

Lisa has been featured as a speaker on stages large and small, including national conferences put on by SHRM, ERE, NILG, CUPA-HR, The Forum on Workplace Inclusion, Disability:IN, and many private corporate, government and higher education conferences.

Lisa is available to speak on a wide variety of topics related to hiring and retaining military veterans, including those with disabilities, student veterans, National Guard and Reservists, military spouses and more. Her topics range from tying the business case to the recruitment initiative, sourcing veteran talent, marketing to attract this demographic, common retention challenges, and more.

*****About Lisa and The Value Of a Veteran*****

Lisa's work through The Value Of a Veteran combines her 22 years of direct military experience (Active and Reserve) with 16 years of human resources, diversity program development and change management experience.

The Value Of a Veteran is a for-profit woman/veteran/minority owned small business with the mission of changing employer mindset about veteran talent and designing recruiting practices that result in more veterans applying and getting hired into roles that are compatible with their true skills and experience.

Lisa wrote the first guide on developing military recruiting programs in 2007 called "The Value of a Veteran(TM): The Guide for Human Resource Professionals to Regarding, Recruiting, and Retaining Military Veterans ". Download a free copy at https://TheValueOfaVeteran.com

In 2013 she produced the first annual Veteran Recruiting Conference (#VetRec) for corporate & government veteran recruiting program managers to gather and share "best in practice" veteran recruiting/retention program information. Lisa is already busy planning the 2023 conference which will be her 11th annual.
