Bio

I have lived in 4 countries and on 2 continents. Growing up as an immigrant and a cross-cultural kid I was able to discover a multicultural world that shaped me into the person I am today. As an adult, I experienced life as a re-pat as well as an expat and I am not a stranger to the challenges and opportunities that living abroad offers.

Just when I least expected it, I met my Danish husband and once again packed my life in boxes and set off to live happily ever after in the land of the Vikings and Hygge.

I have been able to combine my passion and profession as an Interculturalist, owner, and founder of Active Action, public speaker, and facilitator. I am an Interculturalist focused on attracting and retaining highly skilled internationals. I specialize in intercultural awareness, cultural transition and adaptation processes, International identity and belonging, and well-being.

Leading Across Cultures - Intercultural Awareness

Intercultural Awareness is one of the key components when it comes to the retention of highly skilled employees in Denmark. In order for employees and employers to thrive in their professional environment, awareness and understanding are essential. Intercultural Awareness in a business setting is directly proportional to its productivity!

Working Across Cultures - Intercultural Awareness

This workshop/talk is aimed at bringing awareness, understanding, and overcoming the challenges Internationals may face when living in Denmark in order to have smoother transitions and adaptation into the host country.
Adapting and understanding the Danish culture plays an important role in every International transition. For example, having a deeper understanding of why both Danes and Internationals behave in certain ways at work is one of the tools to obtain a thriving intercultural society.
When moving, adjustment to the new home country can be a challenge, therefore finding balance, a sense of belonging, as well as creating a fulfilling work culture are often key elements. The only way to bridge cultural gaps is by raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and emphasizing the importance of what connects us rather than what divides us.

Intercultural Identity and Belonging

In this interactive workshop or talk we focus on what makes up an International Identity as well as how to foster a sense of belonging. Together we will take a closer look at the feeling of Doubleness that many Internationals are challenged by and what skills Internationals have that are powerful tools but that might not yet be fully utilized and tapped into.

Balance and Well-Being in Your Life

How do we bring back balance into our lives during these strange times of uncertainty? The current situation has shifted our focus to finding out more about relaxation and how to implement it in daily life. We will (re)discover that it is helpful to steer our minds with the help of our bodies - and vice versa. We are all online much more now than we used to be. At times we may find ourselves with low energy levels, and facing challenges when it comes to concentrating.

Imposter Syndrome - Calibrate and Combat

Imposter Syndrome is real and it can affect anyone. It is estimated that 70% of people will experience at least one episode of imposter syndrome during their lifetime.
We will focus on what Imposter Syndrome is, why it occurs, who is more likely to experience it and how can we change our thinking to diminish and potentially eliminate Imposter Syndrome from our lives.
