Juliet Beach Black is an established entrepreneur with decades of experience in the industry. She is the founder of Black Interiors in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has achieved massive success with the company. Juliet's family moved from Seattle, WA to the area when she was three years old, as they already had family in Eastern Shores of Maryland area. Her aunt, who owned a design studio, was the one who first introduced her to the world of fashion design and the fashion industry. When Juliet was in high school, she worked as a receptionist and later as an apprentice with her aunt, which she enjoyed. It was her aunt who laid the groundwork for her career in design, teaching her everything from the principles of color theory to more advanced concepts such as color psychology and how it affects people. This was the time at which Juliet realized she had fallen in love with design and decided she wanted to follow in her aunt's footsteps. Juliet took advantage of a dual enrolment program during her senior year of high school in order to further her education and professional development. Juliet was already a sophomore the following year, whereas her friends were still in their first year of high school. She completed a bachelor's degree in business administration from a local college and landed her first job as an assistant to the owner of a design studio, where she worked for two years. Juliet gained more practical experience in a variety of areas, including color selection, furniture arrangement, window treatment ideas, and much more as a result. In a relatively short amount of time, she had built up a loyal following of customers. Juliet established Black Interiors, her own interior design company, in July 2001. Juliet experienced a sense of fulfilment for the first time in her life when she was able to bring other people's aspirations to life through the use of color and space. She and her assistant designer, as well as an office administrator and a part-time apprentice, are now employed by Juliet's company, which she founded. In recent years, Black Interiors has grown to become a household name in the region and serves a vast area of Virginia, from areas on the coast like Norfolk and Virginia Beach, to farther inland around Richmond and Petersburg. Juliet's most recent project is for a client in Norfolk, who has asked her to completely redo six rooms in her home as part of a renovation. Two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, a family room, and the kitchen are all included in the redesign of the space. Juliet anticipates that the project will be her most profitable job of the year and that it will take 18 weeks to complete. Juliet Beach Black is overjoyed that she has been able to turn her passion into a profession. She enjoys working with her clients and seeing their faces light up when their decorating dreams become a reality, which she finds very rewarding.
