I am a dual trained physician in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, with clinical interests lying at the intersection of these two fields especially in the settings of pain, addiction, obesity, depression and sleep.
My my multimodal approach to treatment emphasizes the importance of the mind-body connection, and makes efforts to reconcile both eastern and western approaches to wellness/health. While pharmacology has an important role in health, I am a strong proponent of using this hand in hand with non pharmacologic approaches to health and wellness (tms, acupuncture, therapy, mindfulness/meditation, diet, exercise as medicine).
A large part of my practice comes down to leading patients on a path to transformation. I do not simply try to "fix" a problem but rather encourage, motivate and inspire patients to change the underlying habits that bring about so many of our commonly seen chronic illness. This often requires drawing from principles of leadership, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, and peak performance principles.
I bring this same energy and holistic philosophy from my one on one patient physician relationship to a broader audience while speaking. Drawing material from researched based literature I am empowered to motivate, teach and inspire those I engage with in speaking sessions.
A core part of my work is leading individuals on a path to transformation, moving beyond simply "fixing" problems to encouraging and inspiring change in underlying habits. This draws heavily on principles of leadership, positive psychology, and emotional intelligence (EI). EI, defined as the ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others to manage behavior and relationships, is crucial because it's how you make the most of both your expertise and personality. The good news is that emotional intelligence can be developed by revising responses to feelings, changing thinking patterns, and altering behavior.
EI is vitally important in medicine, linked to enhanced patient satisfaction, fewer errors, improved care quality, and potentially lower malpractice suits.
Recognizing the need for accessible EI training, I am is involved in developing an AI-powered communication coach app. This innovative tool is designed to analyze real-time conversations, provide personalized coaching, and democratize high-quality communication skills globally. It offers targeted analysis for various settings, including parenting, therapy (like CBT), and couples interactions. I see potential for the app to improve interactions in virtually any setting, from healthcare and the workplace to personal growth and relationships.
Bringing this holistic philosophy and research-based material to the stage, I aims to motivate, teach, and inspire audiences on topics spanning emotional intelligence, mind-body wellness, and the transformative power of effective communication.
