Bio

Jon Krop is a Harvard-educated lawyer, mindfulness teacher, and founder of the company Mindfulness for Lawyers. He has taught mindfulness meditation and mindful technology use at Harvard, Yale, the Pentagon, the world’s top law firms, Fortune 100 companies, and many other organizations. Jon has meditated for over twelve years and studied with masters from around the world. In 2014, he completed a seven-month silent meditation retreat under the guidance of meditation master and neuroscientist John Yates, Ph.D.

Smartphone Self-Defense

Technology is getting more addictive by the day, and that’s not an accident. Smartphones, social media, and online ads are precision-engineered to hijack your attention and keep you hooked. It’s their business model. The more time and attention they take from you, the more money they make. Luckily, there are easy ways to fight back.

In this program, we’ll learn “attentional self-defense”: simple, powerful methods for beating digital distraction. We’ll discover how to enjoy the benefits of technology without succumbing to its pitfalls. In doing so, we’ll draw ideas from mindfulness meditation, cognitive psychology, user experience design, and digital product philosophy.

Improving Focus, Effectiveness, and Well-Being through Mindfulness

In this program, I give participants the fundamental skills to bring calm, clarity, and focus into their lives and work. I teach a simple, effective sitting meditation practice and other mindfulness tools tailored to a modern professional's unique challenges and busy workday.

Participants leave this program with everything they need to establish a robust mindfulness practice that will improve performance and reduce stress.
