Jessica is a freelance journalist and writer. Her approach is to follow her curiosity and write about the things she finds the most interesting. This has led her to explore some fascinating worlds, from tomato plantations in Rome to a hotel full of vegans in LA. She's spoken to psychopaths, Arctic conservationists and an octogenarian campaigner on the day before his assisted death.
As the core of her work is people: how we think, how we behave and why. She writes about so many topics, and while she can't be an expert on them all, she carefully consults with the people who are.
She's spoken on a variety of topics based on the work she has done, including speaking to workers about the concept of normalisation, and discussing comedy and offence using Frankie Boyle as a case study.
She takes pride in approaching talks like her articles, audiences like her readers. She crafts her talks based on the questions she wants answering, getting balanced and unbiased views (she's also a BBC columnist so has had plenty of practice with this) and properly researching and immersing herself in the world she's writing about.
