Strengthen Your Important Relationships by Following the Platinum Rule

This talk explores potential shortcomings when practicing the Golden Rule as it pertains to our most important, long-term relationships, whether they be personal or professional, and suggests a better alternative - The Platinum Rule. Instead of treating others the way we want to be treated, we should treat others the way they want to be treated.

Just Because You Screwed Up Doesn't Mean You Are A Screw Up

To err is human. There is nothing like that sense of relief when you mess up and you realize nobody was there to witness it. But what about when you mess up royally and everybody is there to witness it? That happened to me when I was a young Marine, facing my colleagues for the first time after having been demoted for something embarrassingly dumb. I was humiliated. I thought I was a kickass, strong, positive female role model. I still was. I just had to realize it and give myself permission to be human. The wonderful thing about messing up, is you have the opportunity to do better. And just a couple of months later, I was meritoriously promoted. This talk focuses on how to pick yourself up when you've been knocked down in public.

Strengthen Your Influence through Understanding & Adapting Your Communication Style
2 hours
(View workshop agenda)

It may be cliche, but the saying "communication is key" is still fundamentally true. But becoming a more effective communicator requires going beyond a generic understanding of communication. This presentation widens your understanding of different communication styles, deepens your knowledge of your own communication style, and provides practical application to learning how to adapt so that you can be a more effective communicator.

Testimonials (1)
  • Jennifer truly is an excellent speaker. She is thoughtful in her message, her delivery is engaging, and her content is thorough. There are several speakers I’ve seen throughout the years that either had a boring delivery or a boring message (and sometimes both), but Jennifer is able to approach her presentations and speeches with a combination of both interesting message and great delivery. I was fortunate enough to be her student in my undergraduate years, and the lessons I learned from her relating to public speaking stuck with me through law school to today as a practicing attorney. I would endorse Jennifer for anything and everything related to public speaking, communication, broadcast, or presentation.
