Bio #2

WHAT I DO PROFESSIONALLY

I am an author, blogger, spiritual care professional, life coach, and thought provoker. Through my work, I advocate for broadening the reach of holistic, inclusive ‘spirituality’, vitality, and wellness into our daily lives, our families, our communities, and our planet.

MY PROFESSIONAL APPROACH

I believe that the path of ‘spiritual’ wholeness for individuals, families, and communities must be expansive, experiential, creative, thoughtful, and sustainable. Caring for, about, and with people is concerned with what it means to be truly human, purposeful, engaged, interconnected, and fulfilled in our shared journeys… of ‘Being’ Together.

MY BOOKS

I am the author of the following books, all published by Wipf and Stock Publishers:

Unbinding the Perpetual Soul: Our Human Quest for Being

Out of the Canyon: Retracing New Steps Home amidst Human Suffering

The End of the Island: Finding Life in the Movements of Human Suffering, Pain, and Loss

MY SPIRITUAL CARE WORK

I earned my four (4) credits of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through a Chaplain Internship at Tower Health (Reading Hospital) and a Chaplain Residency at Christiana Care Health System. I have also done chaplain work at Main Line Health System (Paoli Hospital). I’m currently providing spiritual care and support to the residents, their families, and the staff of four (4) senior assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory support communities in the greater Philadelphia area. As part of this role, I’m also doing ongoing small group formation and facilitation for residents.

MY PREVIOUS ORGANIZATIONAL WORK

I worked as an organizational business partner, internal consultant, coach, project leader, and programs developer for for-profit and not-for-profit organizations at state, regional, national, and global levels– with focuses on organizational strategy and design, process effectiveness, performance, team collaboration, talent management, change, culture, capabilities, and communications. The majority of this work was done in the healthcare industry. As part of my professional training, I successfully completed the Core Coaching Essentials Program at Coach U.

MY EDUCATION

I received my Master of Theological Studies Degree from the Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University, with a concentration in Contextual Theology.

I also earned a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Oklahoma, with a concentration in Policy Analysis.

Testimonials (1)
  • Here is just a sampling of the accolades about my books from other professionals within the pastoral and spiritual care field: “Tucker provides a simple yet profound guide to choosing how to live wisely, with meaning and purpose.” “Tucker gently encourages the reader to embark on the questions of life, pausing here and there for reflection and inviting personal insight. It is to be savored slowly and prayerfully.” “One cannot read this book without being touched.” “Jeffrey Tucker draws from his experiences to share poignantly about the reality of suffering within the human experience. Almost poetically, he gives voice to the various faces of suffering and the movement of suffering through its challenges and questions to places of resolve and acceptance.” “A book to embrace. Initially, Tucker promises much. And as you are moved by the narrative, you soon discover that he delivers what he promises.” “A must-read for all walks of life.” “Provides companionship on our journey.” “This is Truth, with a capital ‘T’, about the human condition.” “Tucker offers a trail guide that seems to peel away the harsh layers of life, imparting peace, progress, and joyfulness.” “An oft-quoted line, ‘The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes’, came to my mind as I read Tucker’s book”.
