Jayarama Reddy

Dr. Jayarama Reddy is currently teaching Botany, Bioinformatics and Biostatistics for both UG and PG students at St. Joseph's University, Bengaluru-India. His field of specialization is biotechnology and he conducted research at IIHR and IISc Bengaluru for Phd. D. Dr. J. Reddy got his Ph. D (Biotechnology of Orchids) in 2002 from Bangalore University. He guided 4 Ph. D students and currently guiding another two. Dr. Jayarama Reddy has completed five research projects funded by UGC, DST etc. He has published 2 patents. Dr. Jayarama Reddy studied Magee-1, a cancer related protein and deposited it in the PDB (2H5T). He collaborated with Wageningen University, the Netherlands for research in Gene Cloning and Bioinformatics. So far, he has published 97 research papers and 9 books. In 2015, National Environmental Science Academy honoured me with the “Eminent Scientist Award-2015”. St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, presented him the “Scroll of Honour” for the scientific achievements in 2016. He also received “Dronacharya Award” for Academic Excellence from International Society of Gene and Cell Therapy and Gene Research Foundation and “J. Agarwal Gold Medal Award” from International Society of Gene and Cell Therapy. In 2021 he received the “Puraskara Award”. Dr. Jayarama Reddy has completed two courses in Psychology from Yale and Wesleyan Universities, USA in 2022. He has a YouTube educational channel "Dr. Jayarama Reddy". There are 300 educational videos. He is also offering online course on Narcotic Plants.
