Heather Guidone, BCPA is the Program Director of the Center for Endometriosis Care and an internationally renowned disease advocate and educator. She has focused on 'bench to beltway to bedside' efforts in endometriosis research facilitation, policy reform, education, patient-centered care and much more for nearly thirty years, but importantly, is also someone who personally struggled with advanced endometriosis, adenomyosis, and infertility. Those deeply lived experiences bring a unique perspective to her professional works and fuel her continued passion to effect change on the way the disease is researched, treated and publicly perceived. She lectures internationally on endometriosis, serves as a subject matter expert and member of various collaborations on the disease, consults for various research efforts, and has written/contributed to countless books, articles and publications on endometriosis, pelvic pain, womxn’s health, menstrual education, patient advocacy and engagement, and much more over the past three decades. She remains an active member of several organizations, task forces and editorial boards, continuing her tireless contributions to the global endometriosis and chronic pain communities. Her priority focus remains on reducing diagnostic delays and fighting for access to early and effective treatments for all; striving towards policy improvements; collaborative network building among multidisciplinary providers; ensuring stakeholder representation in order to improve outcomes for future generations; and creating space for the patient voice in all places where decisions are being made about endometriosis.
