Bio

H. Titilola Olojede’s experience in artificial intelligence straddles academia and the non-profit sector. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy, she Heads the Department of Philosophy at the National Open University of Nigeria. She is a member of the Ethical Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council of the Centre for Practical Bioethics, USA, and a consultant in the AI for Development trainee program with Gender at Work. Her research interests span Bioethics, Ethics/Epistemology of AI, AI and Education, and AI and Gender. Her paper, Towards Africa AI Ethics, has been accepted for publication with IEEE while Reflecting on Diversity and Gender Equality in Artificial Intelligence in Africa and Does Africa Dream of Artificial Intelligence (AI)? A critical analysis of the limits of AI in open and distance learning in the Global South are being reviewed by Thinker and IRRODL respectively. Titilola has spoken on AI and Education at various forums such as CEPE 2023, RETRIDOL, Commonwealth of Learning, and Nation Media Group at the 2024 National Digit Summit. She has reviewed papers on AI and education in journals such as the Journal of Data and Policy and WAJOFEL. Aside from core philosophy, Titilola loves social advocacy (advocating especially for the causes of women and children) and, being a philomath, has certifications in Ethics, Humanitarianism, International Politics and Diplomacy, Leadership, Theology and Management. Dr Olojede is keenly interested in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects in AI. Titilola was named 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2024.
