I grew up in Plano, Texas before attending the University of North Texas and University of Houston for College Majoring in Finance with minor in Economics. I took lead of my families Company in 2004 which was a Century Disposal as we grew to 67 employees and over 7 million is annual gross revenue before selling to one of our competitors.
I then began my own Real Estate investment company in 2009 and grew it until 2013 where we were buying distressed assets during the downturn of the market in large REO portfolios and then breaking them up and selling them off in owner finance scenarios. We raised over 8 million in investment capital and conducted over 1200 successful real estate transactions. This company ended because of a large portfolio that’s was purchased by our firm as well as several others under an illegal transaction conducted by the seller. We all took heavy losses and were not able to recover but the life lessons and business lessons were invaluable.
I am current own a Auto finance company that operates in 41 states and we are doing loans all over the country. We have done over 4.5 million in revenue over the last 2 years and we started the company from $700 dollars. Through many growing pains we have been sued, we have had significant employee challenges we have faced and in 2020 when Covid hit the biggest blo to our business ever happened.
I became sick very sudden at the age of 39 years old. I all of a sudden found myself in the hospital and within 45 days I flatlined twice and died for over 6 mins both times. I had a life saving heart transplant in order for me to be here and the miracles of being put on the transplant list in 2 days, getting a heart in 2 days so that I didn’t suffer brain damage while on life support taught me as a CEO and my team so much more than any of every thought as a business. We made the transition of how to create a company that can survive you and it was thrust upon us in 45 days and we are still here 7 years later to tell the tale.
I am currently in the final stages of editing for my first published book called “Heart to Submit” that will be out in time for Christmas this year and I have been doing several speaking engagement since my near death experience because I hope to help and inspire other to avoid the mistakes I made, to make different choices and to live in the journey.
