Geert Baetens has been the Head of Communication & PR at the Flanders Department of Foreign Affairs since 2008. He started his career in the early 1990s at the Belgian Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology as promoter and communicator of science and research in Belgian universities. After this he worked on the development of the online newspapers of the Concentra media group and he was head of electronic communication with telecom operator Mobistar (Orange-Belgium). Geert holds a Master’s degree in linguistics and literature.
