Rising from the ashes, Eileyn Chua is not a normal motivational speaker; she is also a burn survivor. Sharing her own painful and difficult journey, you can be assured it would not be theoretical in nature.
She started her journey in the legal profession by being involved in various fields which include civil litigation, bankruptcy, probate and administration of estate, divorce matters and conveyancing.
She discovered public speaking through Toastmasters in 2006 while attending a club meeting at Bayan Baru Toastmasters Club. Eileyn became an active member for over 10 years. During the said period, she held different positions in the club and was the President of the Club for the term 2011/2012. She was also the Secretary for the Toastmasters District 51 Annual Conference held in 2015.
On 15/04/2016, in a blink of an eye, her life changed forever. There was a gas explosion at her home and as a result, she suffered 80% burns on her body. She nearly died that night and also at the hospital. Her perception of life has changed since then. Eileyn now advocates for the formation of a burn survivor support group in Malaysia and is currently writing a memoir of her experience as a burn survivor.
She is also 1/3 of The Spunky, The Rebel And A Mama, a collaboration between herself and 2 other inspiring individuals.
Together they inspire others to live their life to the fullest. They have produced a chapbook series, the first book "Life, Love & Passion: A book of Poems" and the second chapbook "Snippets Of Life". They conduct workshops together and are also empowerment coaches for other women.
For the first time in 2022, Eileyn has written in Bahasa Malaysia and her story can be found in DISASTER! a collection of stories from survivors and frontliners.
In this second chance in life, she believes in not limiting her potential. At the end of 2022, one of her fictional short story was published by a local publisher in Malaysia in an anthology called "The Big Book of Malaysian Horror Stories".
In November 2025, Eileyn produced her memoir about her life as a burn survivor in Malaysia.
Eileyn has also been invited to share her inspiring story on various platforms online and offline.
