Dr. Ugochukwu Ikpeazu is a technology enthusiast, lecturer, author, and amateur explorer. Ugo’s latest book, Philosophy of Digital Currencies: A Theory of Monetizing Time (Routledge 2023), proposes a shift in how financial technologies are combined and applied as tools to further enable peer-to-peer value transfer. In the book, which is based on his research, he argues that further enabling peer-to-peer value transfer will usher in a new phase in the positive evolution of human society. His research also serves as the basis of his lectures which focus on combining and applying new technologies to create value for businesses. At the age of 29, Ugo has worked in different regions around the world with international organizations, academia, the private sector, and civil society, predominantly in roles responsible for creating new initiatives; from launching global multistakeholder projects, to establishing the presence of organizations in new regions.
Outside of his work, Ugo is an active travel and adventure enthusiast on a mission to experience the world. He uses photography and storytelling around art, to share to his perspectives, and inspire creativity in others.
