Bio

Dr. Nancy A. Taylor is founder and CEO of Taylormade Senior Advocacy & Consulting LLC where she designs and implements personalized healthcare action plans for busy people who want to achieve their best quality of life. During her 20+ years as a pharmacist and patient advocate, Dr. Taylor has brought relief, confidence, and control to hundreds of patients and clients through strategic action planning.

She has taught educational workshops and been a featured speaker at venues including community education settings, online communities such as Generational Support and SecureSeniorConnections and podcasts such as Boomers Today and willGather.com, on medication safety, transitions of care, introduction to Medicare, and the important role of advocacy in healthcare. Her recent presentations for the Healthcare Advocate Summit and National Association of Healthcare Advocacy have solidified her position as a thought leader on healthcare action plans for medication safety in the Advocacy Industry.

After fourteen years in community pharmacy, Dr. Taylor shifted her focus and started her company to better serve her aging patients. She lives by the words of her pharmacist father, “We are not just dispensing medicine, we are dispensing HOPE. Remember Nancy, your empathy, compassion, and sense of humor are as much medicine as are pills and creams.” The transition from pharmacist to advocate was natural and empowering for both Dr. Taylor and those she serves.

Dr. Taylor continues to serve as a consulting pharmacist, evaluating drug appropriateness, determining drug/drug and drug/disease interactions and drug regimen consistency during transitions of care.

In addition to her Doctor of Pharmacy, Dr. Taylor is a Board-Certified Patient Advocate and a Certified Senior Advisor. She is available for in-person and virtual workshops for your organization, online community, or corporate wellness program. Reach out and message her today!

How Many Medications is Too Many Medications?

As we age, we see more chronic conditions, and with those conditions more medications. Are they all necessary? Prescriptions, Over the Counter, Vitamins & Supplements and Herbals can all add up to a hefty pill burden. Is such a burden safe? This workshop addresses the “normalization” of overtreatment, and the hidden dangers polypharmacy can cause in our older adult population

Don’t Navigate Healthcare Alone!

Many families and solo agers try to navigate our daunting healthcare system and end up frustrated, overwhelmed and defeated by the F.U.D.G.E. factor (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt, Guilt and Exhaustion). Come learn about the F.U.D.G.E factor and how an independent advocate can help you along your health and life care journey.

Safe Transitions of Care

Safe & Sound in the Hospital: How to Get the Care You Want for the People You Love

Many people look at a hospital stay as a safe place to be, after all,
This is a place we go to get better and solve health problems, not acquire them. Understand why achieving the best care is not as simple as having the best facilities and the brightest people and learn how you can make a big difference to the quality of care for yourself and the ones you love.

Your Advanced Directives: How to Make Them Uniquely YOU!

Whether you are 18, 95 or anywhere in between, this workshop is for you. Young adults, the law doesn’t assume your parents can speak for you if you can’t. Parents, the law says you have no right to your adult child’s health information even if they are on your insurance. Seasoned adults, do you know the risks of having outdated documents?

Learn about the different documents needed to speak for yourself even when you physically can’t, remember, if you don’t make your own decisions, someone will make them for you.
