Douglas Rosenthal

Douglas Rosenthal is a structural biologist and researcher. For over two decades, he dedicates on conducting research studies in the field of biology, especially on how pathogens infect and cause diseases by producing virulence factors that target host cell molecules.

He bases his research studies on pictures of cells from high-powered microscopes which show clearly the complexity of the cells and also the microbes by which they are affected. Moreover, Rosenthal includes in his studies molecular structures from electron microscopy (EM), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, x-ray crystallography.

A number of Douglas Rosenthal’s research studies have contributed significantly to the understanding of the organelles and membrane-trafficking intermediates, cytoskeleton, cell cycle regulators, signal transduction pathways, and cell-death pathways, and the organelle/protein recycling machinery.

Recently, Rosenthal dedicates on making research studies on protein synthesis, related to cancer growth. His studies give opportunities to the pharmaceutical companies and for the medicine do develop new and more efficient cancer treatments. Also, the discoveries made by Douglas Rosenhal, have been featured in many scientific journals.

This structural biologist has authored a book called Atomic Evidence and The Body’s Motors.

Rosenthal has a Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD Degree in Structural Biotechnology from the Case Western Reserve University.
