Dilip’s current work can be summarised in 3E’s – Entrepreneurship (dJED Consulting & Coaching), Education (Me2 Kids Club) and Environment (Vanvadi Forest). In the past, he has managed minute factory operations and large scale project implementation. He has played a pivotal role in many startups (including angel investments in few) like Aventus Estate, Ice Stupa Artificial Glacier, Himalayan Institute of Alternatives Ladakh (HIAL), Scarab Ideas, IgnisNova Robotics, etc..
At the age of 37, Dilip was designated as the founding member of HIAL. For almost 2 years, he was on a pro-bono volunteering sabbatical from his own business to be part of Sonam Wangchuk’s core team that started the alternative university & its ventures. He has been associated as a volunteer with SECMOL Ladakh since 2004 and more closely since beginning of the famed Ice Stupa project that won Rolex Award for Enterprise in 2016.
Dilip did his PGDM (MBA) from SPJIMR (and awarded Alumni Awards for Social Excellence in 2018) and is also a CA. He has worked in corporate sector with Marico & Voltas (Tata Group) for 7 years in senior management roles handling corporate strategy & planning, performance review, finance & procurement, M&A’s, etc. Thereafter he joined a family business (Gujarat Infrapipes) and was instrumental in its 7 fold growth in 7 years to Revenue of over Rs. 120 cr & number 1 position in the industry. In parallel, he co-founded a real estate company (Aventus Estate) in JV with a PE fund for developing industrial parks and as it’s CEO completed 150 acres of projects worth Rs. 200 cr.
He is a public speaker (TEDx, SParc talks, etc.) and has spoken/ taught on variety of topics. His is always on the path of Learning, Doing & Sharing and after learning basics of Natural Farming and Sustainable building design & construction, he recently completed Leadership course in Bio-diversity Conservation from BNHS. Dilip is also a member of New Acropolis International Organisation, Indian Multiversities Alliance and Ascent Foundation.
His latest dream (currently on drawing board) is Vanvadi Forest Eco-Versity (VaFEV) where people can learn everything related to ecology, nature, forest, farming, habitats, and various sustainable livelihoods. Here, skills will be learned practically and not just theoretically. We will also promote culture, music, arts, crafts, natural healing, meditation, etc. Over time, we envision an organically evolving eco-versity and community… where people can collaboratively learn… supporting and helping each other in symbiotic harmony… like the forest around us.
