Bio

Deborah draws on 20+ years of experience in improving individual and organizational performance by leveraging years of experiences and achievements in HR and busines consulting, adult education, psychometric assessment, leadership development, team effectiveness and culture transformation. Alongside the clients she serves as VP, Client Experience and Growth at Connective Intelligence Inc., she facilitates an Executive Peer Forum Group for Innovators Alliance and teaches resilience and emotional intelligence courses as an industry practitioner instructor at the Schulich Executive Education Centre, affiliated with York University's Business School. A graduate of Western University and the Queen's Innovation and Design Thinking Program, she is recognized by the Creative Education Foundation as a Master Facilitator of Creative Problem Solving, innovation, team building and strategic planning. She is also certified on multiple psychometric assessments and The Confident Coach„¢, an ICF-accredited coaching program. A popular presenter and facilitator, Deborah has worked with HRPA, Strategic Capability Network and Conference Board of Canada events and the national conferences of the Municipal Innovators Community, Institute for Performance and Learning, Retail Council of Canada, Creative Problem Solving Institute, Mindcamp, The North West Company, Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) and Women in Leadership and Business.

Change, Challenge and Resiliency

Research has shown that high levels of resilience can deliver valuable work-related outcomes for individuals, helping people recover faster from difficulties, reduce stress, improve job performance, develop positive attitudes, and sustain higher levels of wellbeing and fulfillment at work. Resilience has implications for business too, especially during times of change. Having HR and business professionals who are resilient under duress, and who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances, can benefit not only individuals, but teams and the organization as a whole in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. Based on research by A&DC, an organizational-psychology firm in the UK, this presentation introduces a resilience model, 8 validated components of resilience and strategies to build resilience.
