I am a civil rights worker from the 1960s. I attended the March on Washington (1963) where Dr. King made his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, was a project co-director during the Mississippi Freedom Summer (1964), and helped organize the Selma-Montgomery March (1965) where I walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge with Dr. King.
I also helped Richard Beymer (West Side Story) make a movie in 1964 about Freedom Schools and voter registration. For decades I have been lecturing about the civil rights movement to educational institution across the spectrum from elementary, middle, secondary, undergraduate and graduate students. I am also an attorney and educator. I have been a Pro Tem Judge for 30 years in Small Claims and Traffic, and have taught at the University of Arizona, Cal State University, East Bay, Sonoma State University, as well as presentations at the University of Illinois and others.
