Bio

Age is deceiving. Many argue that the years one has spent on this earth is the currency in which they use to be able to speak, to be heard. But that is not always the case. Although I am seventeen years deep into the forest of life, I see the forest for the trees. I've been through the thorns of discrimination, self-deprication and bullying. I've reached the peaks of national gymnastics titles, children's book publications and youth mentorship. I am here to lead you through the brush.

My public speaking engagements reflect that. For the youth, I lead seminars at a school that covers my journey to self-love as a young black girl by referencing my mother and my book: I Love My Kinky Hair. I mirrored that experience for business professionals at Natwest Markets in 2019, as I spoke before a crowd discussing my journey as it relates to women's and black issues. I currently have a youtube channel named Working Out The Kinks and participate in my school's debate program.

I wish to expand the love and hope I have for this world. To inspire and lead individuals into loving themselves and those around them. I wish to do whatever it takes so that no individual questions their worth and power. I am versatile in the age of my audience, but I have a special place for, and great experience with, children.

Author/Illustraor of Oscar Wears Pink Clothes

I wrote and illustrated a children's book titled, Oscar Wears Pink Clohtes, that was self-published (Amazon) September 2020. The story follows a young sloth coming to terms with his identity and learning to love himself.

Illustrator of I Love My Kinky Hair

As an 11 year old, I illustrated a children's book my mother wrote based on my life story. The project aimed to be for the two of us to connect over my childhood emotional hardships and we've engaged in several speaking events to help others with our story.

I Love My Kinky Hair

This presentation I make every time I participate in Dolan Midde School's Diversity Day. The event draws a number of local speakers and presenters to introduce students to important ideas.

My event followed the narrative of the book I co-authored (my story inspired my mother's writing, I illustrated) with my mother as an 11-year-old titled, I Love My Kinky Hair. In this safe space I enforce the power of self-love and promote and interactive experience of learning to appreciate difference.
