First Gens In Tech

In September 2025, Hubspot hosted a virtual panel discussion on first-gen professionals working in the tech industry. I was invited to speak on the panel where I shared my experience about working in the technology industry and gave advice to 100+ audience members, who were first-generation professionals (those who are the first in their families to work at a Corporate company), on how to successfully navigate that industry.

Basta Summer Series

In July 2025, Basta, a non-profit organization in NYC that helps first-generation college students secure internships and full-time jobs, hosted a virtual panel discussion for 25-30 first-gen college students on selecting their careers post college.

I was invited to speak on a panel, alongside 4 other first-gen professionals, where I shared my story about how I chose my first job post college and what made me successful thus far in my career as a first-gen professional.

How to Find your Advocate in the Workplace

In January 2024, I partnered with the City Tutors, a non-profit organization in NYC, that provides free mentorship and tutoring support to NYC college students, to plan and execute a virtual panel discussion on how to find an advocate in the workplace.

We invited 4 panelists from diverse career backgrounds - Finance, Law, and Education Technology, to share their experiences with 25 college students, on how they found their mentors and/or sponsors in the workplace. They also shared the differences between a mentor and a sponsor to help the students gain more clarity on them.

At the end of the event, students left with new knowledge about mentors vs sponsors, and strategies they can take to find an advocate I.e mentor and/or sponsor in the workplace.
