Child Rights and Participation consultant dedicated to amplifying the voices of young people.

Working with organisations such as UNICEF, the Diana Award, and Children in Wales, I have travelled internationally to share research findings and promote my core message of youth empower.

As founder of fully youth-led NGO, Future Youth Impact, I have delivered training, presentations, and workshops to spark conversation around our exciting, creativity-based methodology.

Topic: Ways of empowering young people to want to have their voices heard, through youth-led opportunities, creativity, socialisation and fun. How the language we use around rights can have an impact on children’s relationships with their own rights and that of those around them.

Topic: I had the pleasure of announcing Cardiff, my hometown, as the UK’s first Child Friendly City, were young people, and the city’s leaders gathered together to celebrate. Reflected on the 5 year journey and shared our ambitions moving forward.

Topic: Amplifying the voices of children and young people from the Children’s Commissioner for Wales’ Advisory Panel to kick off the 2023 summit. Shared the findings from the Young Wales report into the state of children’s rights and the nexus of issues relating to child poverty. Outlined the connections between young people’s lives and the data, including the recommendations from the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Topic: Findings from our state of children’s rights in Wales report, including making suggestions for questions and recommendations to the committee. Our personal experiences, combined with our insights as young people.
This opportunity allowed me to chair the Welsh Delegation on three occasions, including in a meeting with a Welsh Gov Minister. I was also one of three young people chosen to speak during the pre-session meeting where I explored the role of young people in decision-making and my experience as autistic person in education.
