Antonio Wright is a young African American male, born and raised in the Durham area.
As of today I have been in the public service/mental health field for over 12 years. My career began as a volunteer firefighter for almost six years. I started my undergrad degree at Strayer University obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Criminal justice which led me to a career in the Justice system as a Correctional Officer for 5 years. I have obtained my Masters Degree from Walden University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
After serving as a correctional officer, my passion wasn't fulfilled until I began working with at-risk youth as a Youth Counselor for Chatham County until 2021. Because I wanted to make a greater impact in the world through direct service I gained employment with a community based mental health agency as a Qualified Professional Counselor all while pursuing his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
After obtaining my degree I have become a Family Counselor, where I provide 1 on 1 therapeutic sessions with the youth and their families regarding matters such as but not limited; coping skills, conversation tactics and mindfulness strategies. Helping others has always been a passion of mine and I have truly dedicated my life to giving back and promoting others.
