Ameenah Fuller, Keynote Speaker

Ameenah Fuller, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is a descendant of Muscogee Creek Freedmen.

She attended Southeast High School, and worked on the high school newspaper. At the age of 16, she worked for the Oklahoma City Urban League in a journalism program, producing a bi-monthly newsletter, and developed a teen television program called Speak-Out designed for Oklahoma City youth to speak out on issues affecting their lives. She earned a Television Broadcasting Certificate from KOKH TV Channel 25. While still attending high school, she enrolled in Rose State College to pursue a career in journalism. She later transferred to Oklahoma State University, and earned a certificate in a journalism program.

Mrs. Fuller obtained her degree in Law from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2019. She also holds a master's degree in public policy from New England College. She is the founder of a non-profit organization called Creek Freedmen Initiative, the Cornerstone of Black Wall Street Foundation (CFI) based in Oklahoma City.

She now lives in California, where she works as a consultant and devotes her spare time to writing and genealogy research. She believes it is history that will bring us together and mend our hearts and minds. It is history that tells the story to follow a path with two directions, right and wrong. History tells you the past so you can choose the right road for the future.

American History is yet to be told to the entire world in its true form. According to Ms. Fuller, American history does not include all the bells and whistles, so you will experience a few lumps and bumps on the way. She believes, in the end, that it is history that will build race relations through reconciliation of the past. "I believe once you read my story about this part of American history, it will deeply touch your soul. I believe you will begin to show empathy for your fellow citizen, neighbors, and families. Writing is my first love — to have the ability to express my passions, feelings, and emotions empowers me with inner strength and beauty. There is no greater blessing than to touch the heart and soul of another."
