Alphonsine Anderson is a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda and a motivational speaker, nonprofit founder, and advocate for education and healing. At just 13 years old, Alphonsine endured unimaginable loss—losing her parents and two siblings—but rose from the ashes of tragedy with a mission to uplift others.
Today, she is the founder of Rising Above the Storms, a U.S.-based nonprofit supporting vulnerable youth in Rwanda through education, mentorship, and mental health support. A graduate school scholar and successful technical sales leader, Alphonsine combines personal testimony with practical wisdom to speak on resilience, leadership, grief recovery, faith, women's empowerment, and global impact.
Whether addressing schools, conferences, churches, women’s groups, or nonprofit fundraisers, Alphonsine delivers unforgettable talks that awaken courage, restore hope, and ignite change. She is based in North Carolina and available to travel globally for keynotes, panels, and workshops—both paid and unpaid.
