Having taught high school for 18 years, I understand the experience “from within” and can help bridge the parent and educator voice in a meaningful way.
I currently serve as a consultant to school districts with over 20 years of teaching and mental health leadership experience. After witnessing gaps in our overburdened education system, I pursued social work to explore more effective, sustainable solutions to help our kids thrive within their school buildings. Since school is where we parents send our children to learn, grow and flourish, I believe we have a responsibility to strengthen this system.
My clinical experience is in trauma-specific therapy. Parents and caregivers are often overwhelmed and feel ill-equipped to effectively support their anxious children, so I help empower them so they show up more confidently in their role.
Using my unique lens as an educator, a therapist, and a parent to help others, I infuse evidence-based data to develop targeted mental health programming for schools, specifically around anxiety, trauma, and suicide awareness, while working to educate groups through workshops and conferences. I design and deliver online courses and provide virtual training internationally, and as the Co-Founder of Thriving School Consulting, LLC, I invest my time and energy into reaching people on a massive scale, one community at a time.
