Becky Gandillon

My degrees are in biomedical engineering, and I spent the first 8 years of my career working as an engineer for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Through trial and error, I figured out that I could make better decisions for the VA by using data. I learned SQL and started making an impact. Then I amplified that impact by training others to do the same thing. I began speaking at trade conferences about how to use data to make better equipment purchasing and maintenance decisions, and discovered that my real talent lies with data storytelling - taking technical information and communicating it to technical and non-technical audiences. Now I use those skills as a data & analytics practice lead for a consulting company, a well-respected data strategist, and as a blogger and YouTube personality focused on Disney vacation analytics.
