An Introduction to Cultivating Safe Spaces

Cultivating Safe Spaces (CSS) is a trauma-informed leadership framework that integrates Indigenous knowledge, neuroscience, and relational practice. It's designed for people who know that lasting change requires more than good intentions; it requires the internal capacity to navigate discomfort, tension, and complexity without losing connection.

Through this introduction to CSS workshop, you'll learn to:
1. Cultivate safety, by leading with compassion rather than control, so people feel welcome to show up authentically
2. Strengthen accountability, so words and actions align, creating agreements that actually hold.
3. Self-regulate under pressure repairing harm without defensiveness or blame, so difficult moments don’t spiral
4. Hold relationships as the outcome, rather than a deal; helping you decolonize your workplace.

Learn how to stay in relationship through conflict; so your team grows stronger, instead of fracturing under pressure. Ultimately this increases retention.

Are You an Ideal Employer? Do You Want to Be?

Are you struggling with attracting, recruiting and retaining employees? Do you your current talent management results frustrate you? Have you ever had candidates not show up to scheduled interviews, new hires leave within the first three months, and long-standing employees tell you that they are ready to scale back their work? Instead of feeling discouraged and convinced that people are no longer willing to work, could being an Ideal Employer help?

We think so and would love to show you how by sharing strategies and tactics you can choose to adopt to assist you in creating the team you need to carry on with your unique organizational goals. We will explore how to create employer/employee relationships based on trust, how to clearly articulate your employer value proposition and how to implement proven retention strategies as you welcome employees to your team.

Thoughts & Plots: Thought Partners and your Business Strategy

We're living in a stressful time. Many of us have changed how we deliver our products and service, including adapting to doing more work from home. Some are making tough decisions about how many staff to keep and what to do about our brick and mortar sites. People want to know how to adapt their organization to respond proactively to changes.

Transforming your strategy can be incredibly difficult. Especially if you're the boss or just starting a new organization. If only you had someone to confide in, a sounding board, someone who could help you find the answers you're looking for. A Thought Partner can help you take your ideas to the next level to form a winning strategy.

Learning Objectives 1. Learn what a Thought Partner is 2. Learn about the transformative power of working with a Thought Partner as you create/grow/change your organization 3. Learn where to find potential Thought Partners 4. Learn how to choose the Thought Partner that will be the right fit for you

The Workplace Business Case for Gender Equality

Gender equality is not only a basic human right, but its achievement has enormous socio-economic ramifications. Empowering people from under-represented genders fuels thriving economies, spurring productivity and growth.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) worked together to develop the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) which provide guidance on empowering women in the workplace, marketplace & community. These principles may be used for all genders that are under-represented in the workplace.

This session includes real life examples of businesses and organizations empowering women and other under-represented genders to illustrate how your workplace can take practical actions based on the seven Women's Empowerment Principles. This session also outlines the business case for gender equality in your organization.

Telling Your Story: Why me? And What's in it for Them

Are you looking for writing tips that can help your resumes and cover letters attract the hiring manager's attention? Do job interviews terrify you? Your words matter. Most candidates miss the opportunity to set the tone for their interview and communicate what a great candidate they are every time they answer the question Why did you apply for this job? Stories are an effective way to showcase your wealth of prior learning, transferable skills, work and volunteer experiences. Using stories can help you write effective resumes and give impressive answers during job interviews. Learn tips and techniques that can help get you noticed by hiring managers and ace behavioural interview questions. Learning Objectives: 1. Learn why you should share so what stories in your cover letter, resume and responses to interview questions. 2. Learn the importance of using numbers (quantifiable data) in your stories. 3. Learn how including qualitative data helps showcase your skills. 4. Learn how you can set the tone of the interview right from the start. 5. Learn how to craft stories to showcase the transferable skills learned in your family, pursuing your hobbies, as a volunteer and in work roles, even when that experience is not specifically related to the job you are applying for.
