Ana Karina Smith Cain

I was born and raised in Panama, in a family situation of secrets and mental illness. Tragedy hit in my early adulthood, when I lost my beloved grandfather (and father figure) in a terrorist blast. As I scrambled to pick up the pieces at home, I found strength to study abroad at the University of Pennsylvania, were I began my life path to adulthood. Untreated trauma and grief eventually brought my to my knees and I became completely shattered in codependence and stored emotions. I love to share my inner journey through pain to lasting peace and personal growth, as I believe in the transformational power of the intelligence of the heart. I have learned to harness the strength of my story of resilience, I've become immersed in learning how to live from my true self, connecting to myself and others in the most meaningful ways through the power of generative questions and heart connection. I'm a HeartMath Trainer and Mentor, who's worked in Corporate Communications and Marketing for 20 years. I am also a certified Wellness Counselor from Cornell University. I also participate in Corporate Boards, I serve as sitting president of the Penn Wharton Alumni Club of Panama, and I have 4 amazing girls who I love to my deepest core.
