It took two or three more tries before I would taste success. With each experience I learned more about how to adapt and draw upon a fresh set of skills. Each time I had to learn that the skills that got me there were not the same skills that would help me succeed in a foreign environment.

Once I learned to trust my instincts, take risks, and follow my heart, success came in waves. I found my groove and ultimately was responsible for delivering over $250 million in services revenue. With each unique opportunity came new challenges, politics, culture, and pace. I learned that I could not succeed on my own. I had to develop leaders who bought into our vision and could inspire the teams we needed to grow our practices.
