DeShelia Spann

DeShelia Spann is a marketing strategist, certified professional coach, author, and serial entrepreneur. Her breakthrough marketing and branding techniques change how we look at people, places, and things – for the better. Her innovative approach to solving complex marketing challenges has delivered powerful results for her clients and garnered her peers' respect.

She spent the early part of her career in the media and advertising industry to develop her craft. First, as an Associate Producer for a local news affiliate, and moving on to serve as an Associate Broadcast Producer for one of the largest advertising agencies in the Southeast. DeShelia has worked on international campaigns with some of the sharpest producers, creative teams, and editors. She soaked it all in, and with every new project, her love for power communications, captivating imagery, and beautifully told stories remained. Over the years, she has honed these skills to grow her professional portfolio and business ventures.

DeShelia has a firm understanding of technology, marketing, consumer behavior, and stellar branding knowledge in developing a company — and people. She has worked in many industries, including technology management, consumer goods, life sciences, higher education, media, and non-profits. She has over 15 years of experience in delivering integrated marketing, brand management, public relations, communication messaging, and social media strategies.

As a speaker, DeShelia's appeared at many industry events and university seminars, including The Social Shakeup and Oracle Modern Marketing Experience. She's also appeared as a panelist or moderator for workshops and roundtable events. Often sought after for marketing insights and thoughts on changing trends, DeShelia's appeared on BrightTALK TV, CRN TV, and various webinars.

In her coaching practice, she helps tech pros, executives, rising leaders, and entrepreneurs channel their creative power to reach their full potential. Leveraging her years in the tech industry, experience as a serial entrepreneur, and her comprehensive training from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), she helps clients get unstuck and achieve their goals. DeShelia's approach to coaching is rooted in a partnership with clients that allows them to curate the life and career they desire.

In May 2018, she embarked on a new venture, launching Nona Jane Collective, a consortium of businesses including a marketing agency, coaching practice, and photography studio.

When she's not working with clients, DeShelia volunteers her time within her local community. She's an active member of the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a board member for StepUp Ministry, and an active member of the Junior League of Raleigh.

She currently lives in Raleigh, NC, with her very active rescue dog Sasha and is working on her first coaching book.
