Bio

Following years of dance recitals, band concerts, speech contests, and theater performances, Ashley feels at home on a stage. She’s equally as comfortable behind a computer screen transforming complex topics into understandable stories and instructions. Her recently published book, There’s an Elephant in Your Office, does just that by using a simple metaphor to explain the complexities of mental illness in the workplace.

As a healthcare professional for 13 years and a life-long manager of her own mental health disorder, Ashley provides a unique perspective on how companies and managers can identify and support employees experiencing poor mental health in the workplace.

Bottom line - knowing how to recognize and interact with these employees is the key to meeting performance, business, safety, and financial expectations.

There's an Elephant in Your Office

Knowing how to recognize and support employees with a mental illness or psychiatric disability is the key to meeting performance, business, and financial expectations. It also keeps you safe from potential discrimination claims and lawsuits.

During this presentation, we identify mental health conditions that commonly exist in the workplace. Then, through real life examples and best practices, we offer practical steps you can take as a manager to notice, identify, and properly lead those individuals to peak success.

Bottom line – you can meet people where they are, show empathy, and find new ways to accomplish tasks without jeopardizing your career, office morale, or the business.
